Timothy Robert Colwell was born September 5, 1964 to Thomas and Ruth Norman Colwell.

As a boy growing up, he played baseball and golf, and he loved go- Karting.    This passion stayed with him for years.  He was active in the go-Kart competitions, and was always the one to beat.  He and his Mom Ruth, Raymond Seaman and Richard Russell traveled the circuit. Many friends share fond memories of this time in his life.

He graduated from McArthur High School in 1982.

His love of racing transitioned into cars and trucks.

He married Michelle Callahan and her two children, Dana and Chris, and he really liked living in North Carolina.

His love of all things mechanical developed into a job with NASCAR.  He was a valuable part of the team, keeping the cars on the track and winning races.

After his time with NASCAR, he returned to South Florida and began to work on marine motors.  He worked for Atlantic Yacht Service, Davie Marine, and Intercoastal Marine.

Tim loved to golf, fish, shoot pool and go to the beach.  He and Kim Paletz were married on the beach at sunrise.

Ruth was from Iowa and they vacationed there for holidays, whenever possible.  Tim had many fond memories of attending the Iowa State Fair.  One year he had Olga with him and he had so much fun introducing her to a world she had never seen before.  She and Tim have remained lifelong friends.  When he came to Iowa, he and Grandpa Don would take a little drive to Springbrook State Park at dusk to see the deer. On holidays, he and his cousins would feast at Grandma Mary’s table, watch football, nap, and feast again.   Grandpa went out to the farm every day, and Tim always tagged along.  Iowa is so different from south Florida, and he had many good memories of his visits there.  Tim loved Iowa, and Iowa loved Tim.

Tim passed away on November 10th, 2020.  He lived his life with the pedal to the metal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ruth Colwell and Grandparents, Don and Mary Remele and Alma and Robert Colwell.

His family and closest friends will fondly remember Tim and miss him very much.  To us he will always be Timmy.  Our arms are empty, but his parent’s arms are full.  The little family is together again.

A Memorial gathering will be Friday, November 13, 6:00pm – 8:00pm  at Landmark Funeral Home.
