James (Jerry) Joseph Gensel was born May 28, 1934 in Ohio, when he was one year old his parents moved to Hollywood beach where they built a house on New York Street. Jerry grew up loving the water and the outdoors where he learned to fish and work on his life long love of golf. Jerry met the love of his life Judith (Judy) Brousseau when they were in the youth group at First Presbyterian Church Hollywood, they both have been members of the church for 70 plus years. Jerry sang in the choir, along with his wife and served many offices in the church. He graduated from South Broward High School, where he played in all of the sports teams while singing in the school choir. Jerry and Judy were married Sept. 11th, 1954. He worked for many years building a reputation as a Stock Broker. Jerry made many friends playing golf, tennis, fishing, church, known as a master joke teller (Junto club) as well as a former Kiwanis club member and Committee of 100. He is predeceased by brothers Pete Gregg, Phil Gensel and sister Carol Murrell. Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy, his sons James, Robert (Arlene) and daughter Ann Beverly(Chuck) and his grandchildren, Allen (Alina), Amanda (Bob), Shannon (Justin) and Kristen as well as eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
