Leona “Patricia” Gumbs-Oscar
In January 2012, Patricia joined the Spring Class of students attending MDC Funeral Science Program studying to become a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and also began working for a local funeral home as a support staff part time associate. This allowed Patricia to work up close and personal with Funeral Directors and Embalmers which gave her additional insight into the industry. In May 2013, Patricia graduated from MDC with an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Science.
Patricia served her yearlong apprenticeship at Landmark Funeral Home and earned her Funeral Director and Embalmers License in the state of Florida In December 2013.
In early 2014, Patricia joined the National Funeral Directors Association and the Florida State Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. In August 2017, Patricia became Prep Room Manager, where she now oversees all aspects of the prep room facility.
She is very dedicated to her profession and recognizes the true gift in helping to honor a life well lived. She considers herself very fortunate to work with such dedicated people who all share the same vision and goals, which is to provide impeccable care, respect, and diligence to each and every family that selects Landmark Funeral Home to honor the life of their loved one.
Patricia enjoys spending time with her husband Eddy, her family and friends.
